 I HELP RUN THE CROWN GOLF SOCIETY IN ANSTEY LEICESTER.  WE ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND OUR MEMBERSHIP THIS SEASON AND HAVE ALREADY ARRANGED SIX TOURNAMENTS AT SEVERAL COURSES FOR SIXTEEN MEMBERS.  WE ARE WELL ORGANISED AND THERE IS A GREAT SPIRIT AMONST OUR PLAYERS ANYONE WISHING TO JOIN PLEASE CONTACT ME THROUGH GOLF SHAKE, THANK YOU!

Hi David,

I have a few questions.

1) When do you play (Weekends or Weekdays)?

2) Do you have any Female members?

3) Is there any Costs involved (Other than the Games Played)?

thank you for your response.  at the moment we do not have any lady players! it would be nice to change this though! our competitions are at weekends and usually on a saturday. the cost to join our society is fifty pounds plus a society shirt at £17.00 this money wil go towards buying trophies at the end of the season where as last year we have a presentation evening and all of the trimmings.  we also are arranging one or two weekends away.  but this is open to players availabilty etc we have a good bunch of guys not all great players but the banter is top drawer! hope this answers some of your questions, thank you.

I'm very interested - How do I join.

I'm not a very good player - still working on the Handicap and getting back into the swing of the game.  I played as a Junior at Lingdale (Before it became 18 Holes), but then stopped when Exams etc got in the way. I re-started playing 3/4 years ago when time allowed (As a form of relaxations/exercise around Studies/Exams/Work Etc)

Just so that you know I'm currently studying towards Accountancy Exams so will be unavailable most weekends until after May, but this isn't going to stop me.

our competitions run at last saturday as near as possible every month until august with the possibilty of a weekend away in september.  to join us it is advisable to attend one of our meetings.  the next meeting is on monday 7th april 2008 at the crown public house in anstey at 7:30 pm.  the joining fee is fifty pounds and you would be required to purchase a shirt @ £17.00 to play in our tournaments.

Thank you for your interest in joining our society.

There are places available, but unfortunately this Sunday is the last game of this season!

There are still places left for our winter league, however you would need to provide an handicap to get involved with that & unfortunately again Sunday is the last date to join.

Our season generally runs from March to September & will start up again in the new year.  We have our handicap secretary who monitors players giving their handicap when they play withus regularly.

You are more than welcome to join our society & we are definitely looking for new members for next season.

If you wanted to play as a guest on Sunday as again there is a possible place left.  This is at Forest Hill Botcheston & is our presidents day.  It may be good for you to meet the lads & see what we are about.  The price including coffee & bacon roll is around £26:00.

We have played seven events this season already, generally around the midlands within an hours drive. There were thirty members this year.  For our society it is the banter that is the most important.  Having said that we do have some good golfers too on their day, but good golf isn't paramount, just having a laugh is the key.

We also have a coupe of weekends away each season, whitby & wales were this seasons visits, these are optional to our season & don't go toawrds the points on leader board.
