Who is the greatest player of all time, Jack Nicholas, Tiger Woods, Bobby Jones?
Who is the greatest player of all time?
I think Tiger Woods is the best.
What do you think?

I think Jack. He just seemed to have more competition around him in his prime.

Every era has produced players that stand head and shoulders above the rest, but one that I have always believed to have been the best is Bobby Jones, probably because he was an amateur.
From 1923 to 1930 Bobby Jones captured an amazing 62 percent of the national championships he entered, winning 13 of 21 tournaments. He won five of eight U.S. Amateur Championships, and finished second in another. He won one of the two British Amateurs he played in. In eleven of the last twelve open championships he entered, he finished no worse than second, winning seven times. In 1926, Jones became the first player ever to capture the "Double," winning the U.S. and British Open Championships in the same year. In 1930, he accomplished the Grand Slam, winning the British Amateur, British Open, U.S. Open, and U.S. Amateur all in the same year.
He retired from competitive play at the age of 28.
I enjoyed the Nicklaus, Palmer, Player, Watson, Trevino era, as well, but this Tiger fellow seems to have raised the stakes to a completely different level when one considers how many really good players there are on the circuit today. His level of consistency is nothing short of amazing and it is a brave man who bets against him.
