What do you have in your bag?
Inspired by the "best brand" post (link below), what club selection to you have in your bag? I'm curious to see how much this varies and if there is any correlation by handicap/ability and if everyone takes their full allocation round with them. If you vary it, what did you take round last time? I have: -
Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 4 to 9 iron, 48* PW, 52* AW, 56SW, 60 LW, putter. Total 14
What do you think is the best golf brand?

For god's sake don't ask how many clubs people take to a course and don't put in their bag next, eh David (Dellboy) Marshall?

There would've been a stewards enquiry if you bothered to turn up at the N v S!!!

Driver, 3 Wood, 2I rescue, 3 - PW, 52 GW, 58 LW, Putter = 14 clubs
Not like my pro at Mapperley who after going on holiday to Turkey, returned on the Tuesday, played in a Notts Alliance fixture with us at Cotgrave Place GC on the Thursday a few weeks ago and subsequently discovered after 4 holes he had 16 clubs in his bag.
Cost the team a prive for the lost points he suffered.
What a muppet !!!!!!!! Saw the funny side though and still rib him about it now.

My 60° lob varies between 60 yds to 8 inches straight up and down.
Reply : Thu 13th Mar 2008 14:28
My lob wedge is around the 50 yard mark on a full swing but I rarely use it for this. It's my "get me out the sh!t" club to pop it up and over a steep greenside bank , pot bunkers or greenside bunkers with a high lip. The extra loft means I can give it a bit more power and get it up in the air more to give me a better chance of getting out of trouble. I may not use it for 3 or 4 rounds then use it 5 times in the next.

As with chris, i only ever use the lob wedge for getting out of deep bunkers, or "flopping" shots over bunkers onto the green. I rarely try to get any distance on it as the 56* in the bag is usually enough to get in the 50 60 yard range.

I lob it about 33 yards if a stride = one yard

I wouldn't worry about it Robbie, they were designed to go up, more than they were forward. The secret is knowing how far forward each time.

My sentiments exactly, Kevin, but I started to shank them, so had to go for those special wedges I have, to cure it.

My bag includes: Driver, 5 Wood, 3hybrid, 4-PW, 52,56,60 wedges. Oh and a golf umbrella, a pound coin, and prbably a few golf tees.

Yes John, the LW is more for accuracy and getting it up and over obstacles rather than a distance club. Plus I know that my LW is reliable to 33 yards and in and also works well out of bunkers.
On saying that I am taking my 56* vokey for a 3 hour chipping session on Saturday to see how this compares to my mizuno LW. Followed by stride measurements in the golf clubs free field.

In my bag;
3 wood
5 wood
3-9 irons
pw
sw
lw
putter
And I use them all nearly every round. Use the 60* lob wedge in the bunkers as the sand is that hard and compacted even after raking that you can't really get the ball out on a bed of sand. The lob wedge allows me to nip the ball off the surface of the sand with height so that it sits down like a wet tea bag on the green.

What the vokey's going strait into the A side Rob?
You'll have to be a little delicate with the one you're leaving on the bench, won't you....

I'm surprised you have any eyebrows left with a 64* wedge. Open the face on it and the ball will go backwards

Yeah Tony,
The Vokey will be in if Match fit and a 3 hour medical should show up any niggling flaws.
The 52* hippo is side lined due to poor performances as late plus his team mates seem to do his job for him...Could actually move him out during the next transfer window but we shall see..
