How does this happen? (Sales Technique)
Being in the Golf Trade I really need to know how this works, do you need to go on a course or is there a pill to take or something?
Went to a Golf Store Today (Won't mention the name as don't want to advertise the competition.) with two Golf Buddies. Both of them were looking for some new gear. Me, I was just along for the ride as work had been rained off and that meant golf was rained off too.
We gets in the store and there's some launch going on of a new brand of putters. As the only customers in the store at that moment we got set upon by the store personel. Started getting all the info on the clubs and having them thrust into our hands to demo, then we're all given a fitting. Lots of complimentary words etc etc etc.
Next thing I'm walking out the shop with a new putter and £130 lighter in the wallet and the two buddies who were shopping haven't bought a thing? How does that work? More annoying for me is I only bought a new putter three weeks ago. I'm really not sure what happened or how I was sold the club. My minds a blank like its been erased somehow.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Tim, you will have no trouble selling one of your new putters to Chris, he collects them apparently.

Just looked at those Daly putters on American Golf discount website and they show three models #3, #5, and #7 in either dark or light. All of them IMO look ugly.
To me it is just another new name on the block, I assume designed by John Daly claiming the usual hype, when in actual fact they are better or worse than many other models on the market.
I have never been into changing putters.

Dont worry Christopher, im a sucker for golf equipment and i have to limit the amount of time i spend in golf shops or my bank balance would seriously suffer.
I have been known to walk in for some consumables (tee's, balls etc) and walk out having done £100+.
Basicly, if its "new" and shiney, you have a sale :o)

Chris, I remember Fred Daly, I used to have a set of woods with his name on them.
I like the way you justified the buy with that very accurate description of how it helps in achieving the correct setup for a putt. Should work well for you.

Christopher, dont get me started on the clothing side of things! Considering i play about twice a month, i have enough golfing apparel to wear somthing diffrent every day. The GF even said that i have to much! and comming from her thats a statement!
Unfortunatly/fortunatly depending on how you look at it i go to the states to visit family every year, so my luggage is always busting with the newest styles!
I just seem to go into auto pilot and get the credit card out and the rest is a dizzy haze!

Gotta agree with Johny P those are definately ugly putters. Sort of looks like an abstract Rabbit (just me?)
However if it gets it in the hole then thats all that matters.

The more I look at it the harder it is to find any redeeming features, cannot even flip the ball up into your hands from the back of it. All that bending down is no good.

Better add that to the 231 list of requirements Johny

Was thinking of including a built in ball grabber at the end of the grip after something that John said at the Southern cup. May have to be a seperate project but I'll give it a thought.
