Southern match at South Winchester Golf Club
As Golfshake are organising a Northern match in Yorkshire on 9th June, I wondered if anybody would be interested in holding a Southern match at the same time.
The details of the course are shown here.
Welcome to South Winchester
A championship course, two miles from the M3, with a relaxed Clubhouse offering function and conference facilities
Designed by Dave Thomas and Peter Alliss, the 7,086-yard, par 72 course provides a stern but fair test for golfers at all levels. The course is set around six lakes in an 'inland links' style through undulating landscape.
The welcoming atmosphere of the Clubhouse can be used after a round or booked for conferences meetings or seminars.

Well done, Danny, it will be very similar to Pedham Place from that you tell me. I will have to get over to have a game with you there.

Me too Dave if the dates don't clash with anything. Nice one John thought you might run a mile when you saw the yardage,i tip my hat. Or have you knocked a couple of degrees off that 1 iron ? Wink.

Sounds like a good idea. If it is a weekday then it may be hard to make cos of time off work, much easier if a weekend.

David L, I have played the course a few times so I am not frightened of the yardage except for a couple of the par fives. The 1 iron is doing its job and I look foward to seeing you there, good golfers always welcome, you know that.
Kevin, I have never played there in the summer, so, yes, I might be able to give you all a run for your money. Great that you have shown an interest. The course will suit your astronomical power. Will be great to see you again.

The whole week-end sounds great, David. 36 holes medal/stableford with a Scratch prize to encourage the good players to support us hackers.

Not too impressed with Paultons, David, but Cams Hall is an excellent course.

David. You could go in the ladies match, you'd stand a chance of a top twenty finish then

I'd love to join a game at the Belfry Paul. I only live 15 minutes away too!
Another option is the Forest of Arden. Two really good courses on site. We could have a Midlands cup, playing the par 69 Aylesford in the morning and the par 72 Arden in the afternoon. Best aggregate score wins. Think they do an offer in the summer that allows you to play both on the same day.
