Courses you want to play

Posted by: user77921 | Tue 26th Feb 2008 14:30 | Last Reply

Another courses forum, this time its a fantasy list, of courses that you want to play at some point in the future (thanks to colin for the advice- hope this makes it clearer!)

Top of mine at the moment is Pebble Beach, anyone played it?

Yes, Luke I played there in 1997 as a guest of one of the owners of a chain of packhouses in Salinas CA. I did not think there was anything special about it, but then I am not a fan of American golf courses. I just don't like the grass.

I still have my Pebble Beach towel, looking rather a mess at the moment but still have it on my bag for cleaning the ball.

Always fancied having a go at Pinehurst, NC, we had lunch there once.  It's not far from where my brother lives and we dropped in on the way back to the airport.  I think I know what JP means about the grass there though, the small part of the course I saw was immaculate to the point where it actually looked like astroturf.

Without a doubt it would have to be the the championships course at Sawgrass Florida.

I have walked the course during the TPC a fewyears back and it is by far the best course ive ever seen. And as for the 17th its an unbeliveable hole. All you can see from the tee is a thin strip of green and water. You have to know your yardage's and be bang on with a tee shot or it will be water time for you.

Dream course if there is ever was one!

Played the Old Course at St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Glen Eagles: Kings and Nicklaus, and twice in one day at Kingsbarns on my 50th birthday with my little brother.  Best week of my life.

Now I want to play Whistling Straights in my home state someday during one of my trips back home from London.
