A very good point, there is always the danger of getting stung on ebay and not being able to get hold of the seller. Why not check out  http://www.golfbidder.co.uk it gives you a 12 month warranty.

Matt

the grooves are pretty irrelavent on these wedges, it's the surface finish on the striking face that's important to imparting the high spin speeds.  If you have a look at some pictures of Vokeys and MD's you'll see the machine marks on the striking face - the spin milling.  Basically it's a roughened surface that 'grips' the ball on impact and the less sharp these edges are the less spin you'll get.  Have a look a this on golfbidder http://www.golfbidder.co.uk/product/272043/Titleist_Spin_Milled_SM60_04.html# and you'll see where the grooves are worn.  Buy new if you can and keep it scrubbed clean for as long as you can to retain the spin capability.

Personally I would recommend buying an MD wedge with a spin milled face, the Vokeys are really expensive and I'm not sure us high handicappers are good enough to tell the difference.  Depends if you think that paying more for a name necessarily means it's a better piece of equipment..

David

Can you bring it up to the Southern Cup so I can take a look?  Thinking about bringing all my old stuff down for an ad hoc car boot sale.
