How not to prepare for a round of golf

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Sun 27th Sep 2015 18:01 | Last Reply

Went upto the golf club today to play our last major competition of the year.

Had no work all week so played for the previous eight days running.

Scored 95, 94, 93, 91, 92 and 90 on the Abbotts course.

Also played the Priors course twice shooting 84 and 82.

Really started to hit the ball well again.

Turned up this morning and I am twenty minutes later than I would have like to be!

Got my scorecard from the pro shop. Spoke with my regular playing partner.

Then realised it was fifteen minutes before I was due to tee off.

Made my way down to the first tee.

This meant that I hadn't warmed-up at all.

When I got to the first tee I realised that I had not bought a drink in the pro shop, so no drink for the entire round!

Then I remembered to two bananas and two satsumas I had left in the car!

Made a terrible start, hit the floor first with my three iron off the tee, shot an eight on the first hole.

On the fifth tee I realised that I had a hole in my right trouser pocket!

Shot 101, the worst score all week and played like a complete idiot!

So, in future, I'm going to get to the course one hour before my tee time and make certain that I have warmed-up ready to play.

Russ
