Wilson Golf Ball

Posted by: user80414 | Thu 10th Jan 2008 14:21 | Last Reply

Hi,

Has anyone used the Wilson iwound balls? they were released a few years back and were aimed at the Prov1 market around £30 doz, however they never realy caught on and you can now buy 2doz for about £15 on the internet. Making it a cheap ball with a high end spec (if you belive the wilson write up about it!).

So has anyone given them a go? if so how did they play? are they soft or like stones? do they cut up? what was your over all feel of them.

any info would be great as im looking to change from the warbirds this year as they are a bit to "hot" off the face.

Cheers.

in case anyone is intrested i bought a couple of doz of the iwound and used them for the first time on sunday.

First impressions is that its quite a hard ball but it feels very good off the face, as mentioned above ive bee using the Warbird which is softer feeling than the iwound, but the performance is similar (although the warbirds do travel further buy about 10yds).

Arround the green its got some feel but not as much as i would like but as the box says its does stop well and seem to produce a lot of spin, and on the green the ball played well off the putter face.

Over all i was pleased with the ball, but not sure if it will be replacing the warbird.

But for £13 for 24, you can go wrong realy.

cheers
