Living with defeat

How do you bounce back from devastating defeat? Spirits are low after once again losing to my memesis. You have them on the ropes, turn the pressure on, but they just produce at the right time. The future looks bleak. What mind set gets you out of the doldrums and hopefully on to winning ways?
