Golf Terminology

Posted by: user641003 | Tue 9th Jun 2015 18:00 | Last Reply

I am interested in golf vernacular especially from the home the game was originated. Here in the states we use terms like: chicken on the bone, hacker, player, fat, thin, etc. If anyone has any different and unique terms I would appreciate the tip. Cheers and thanks in advance

WORM BURNER - thinned shot GOD BOTHERER - sky shot, coming off the top of the club (usually a Driver) SHERMAN TANK - self explanatory.

Thanks David, If any more come to mind, let me know. Sherman Tank I guess would refer to a total blundered stroke? Or perhaps a long putt made? Not sure?

It's a phrase used instead of naming the un-nameable shot. Like "The Scottish Play"
