Stableford scoring system for golf society
Hi there,
We currently have a golf society with up to 30 members, we usually play once every 2 months and use Stableford as our scoring system. We have all sorts of competitions such as highest points scorer, highest pair, closest to the pin and longest drive! We have quite a varied group of golfers in terms of handicaps, the problem we have is that we don't have a system in place which gives a true reflection of everyone's level that they are at. So players will just play off what handicap they choose to (within reason) which means its not the most fair playing field. Obviously some players only play once in a while and others play every time. I was wondering if there was a system (excel spreadsheet) we could set up which would be a fairer reflection on all members current level which could be updated after every round we have?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, we just want the bandits to cut their handicap once in a while
Thanks,
Rory Mcilroy.

Hi there. , what we do is cut the player who comes 1st by 2 then 2nd and 3rd places cut by 1.. and also if you score less than 30 points you get 1 shot back, this has worked well for us now for a few years.

Get yourself a free 45-day trial of Handicapmaster society edition. You can construct your own rules for handicap adjustments. If you want to continue after the 45 days it will only cost you £35 - a bargain quality product and only about a pound a head for your society members.

Fully endorse HandicapMaster. I use it for my society and its very flexible. It also has a number of excellent features , golfer of the year, KO comps, most improved golfer, inputting scores and publishing results. There is so much?
Probably the best thing is the level of support they give. In my experience if there is a question its always responded to within a day
Go for it
