Hole in One
Hi Everyone,
I was playing golf the other day and there had been a frost so a lot of the temporary greens were in play. The fourth hole at my course is a par 3, and usually plays 175 yards (remember this is from the ladies tee!!). However, with the temporary green in play it was only playing around 150 yards.
I adapted the club I was hitting accordingly and after hitting a good strike and getting a great bounce I missed the hole by a few cms. If I had sunk the shot (which I really, nearly did!) would it count as a hole in one?
I wouldn't have counted it, but the three golfers I was playing with at the time said that it would count. Let me know what you think!

If it had gone in, Louise, then it would have been a hole in one. Philip is right, one can only play what is presented to them.

I definately would count it!!! they come around once in a blue moon, so every opportunity needs to be taken, and if anything the temporary greens are harder to control the ball on than proper greens so well done on even getting it close!!!!

I'd rather be lucky than good Louise (although there are days when I'm neither!)
