Finally
After playing solidly for about a year and showing potential I was getting annoyed that I couldnt break below the 90 barrier on my scores. Even my home course a par 68 although SSS is 69 I had only ever hit a 90.
I have also been having a few lessons which have shallowed out my backswing to try and get rid of the annoying slice/fade I hit the ball with. It was never too bad as I could control it to an extent but still nice to hit straighter.
I have only played once in the last month and today thought I would have a round with a friend who is coming back from injury. On an icy, forsty morning we tee'd off and things didnt start well when hitting into the sun I lot sight of my ball as soon as I hit it although it sounded alright. I played a provisional but found the original shot sat proudly in the middle of the fairway although not as far as the provisional (why does that always happen?).
Anyway to cut a long story short my tee shots all day were excellent with my new shallower back swing and I hit lots of fairways. My iron shots still need a bit of work but for once my chiopping and putting held up on all but two of the holes.
7 pars and a round of 83 was fine reward for a good days golf. Now to try and break that 80 barrier and work on the iron shots some more.
Merry Christmas all!!!

Cheers Phil, the 2008 plan is to swing the clubs a bit more this year.
