Sore After a Game

Posted by: user612881 | Tue 4th Nov 2014 19:03 | Last Reply

Hi everyone, so I was looking for some advice. I haven't played in years and recently started up again. Last week, I played a round near me and the next day, I felt it like never before. I'm guessing that’s my age catching up to me, but my arms, back, and knees were not happy the next day.

I talked to my doctor and he said just getting back into better shape will help with some of them as well as continued playing. He also mentioned that there were several exercises that golfers could do to help them on the course. I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5Up0ZX8mPo">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5Up0ZX8mPo for some golf exercises, but may be a little bit too much for me right now will work up to it. Does anyone else have any lighter workouts they like to do or maybe even stretches before a game to loosen up the muscles?

im 27 and in quite good shape and I still ache if I play on a sat and a sunday, especially my knees. I even got a trolley to save my back. I would recommend; 1) Don't turn up 5 mins before your round, hit a few puts and go out, plan a good 10 mins of stretching before you hit a ball 2) start with some chips then some pitching then full irons then driver and if you have to collect your balls from a pitching area, jog over to collect them 3) http://www.pga.com/golf-instruction/instruction-feature/fundamentals/pre-round-warm-video

Hope that Helps
