Depends on your budget really, im a huge advocate of the Ping brand. Are you buying new or used? if Used, go to the ping website and you can plug in your details and it will tell you your specs for the ping clubs and then you can look out on ebay or wherever for clubs with your measurements. really does depend on how much your looking to spend. TBH they are all much of a muchness, and custom fitting is not only very beneficial, its quite interesting to see the process and it makes you feel a bit special.

Hi alun Thanks for your reply. My budget will be around 250-300 for the set of irons. I will definitely check the 2nd hand option.

no problem, would highly recommend you try some out first, golf is a game of feel and what feels good for me may not for you. sounds like you have enough cash for a new set but always good to keep your options open

Get yourself to a place with a large choice of clubs and where you can hit the irons off the grass.

Very hard to find as most of the big shops nowadays will use mats

It's not the same hitting off a mat as it is from the grass.

Don't go into the shop with any brands in mind.

Have a look at what they have and pick up the ones that you like.

Most shops will let you select five or six different irons and hit a ball with them.

Whittle down the ones you like until you have two left.

Then it's up to you which one you will like the best.

If they have a swing monitor then use it.

I am a big fan of custom fitting, and most places do it for free now. So take advantage of it, even if it means you will have to wait a couple of weeks before you get them!

Good luck with your search.

Russ
