Best Prize you have won at golf

Yesterday I won a Ferrari for nearest the pin on the 10th at Moortown!!! Spyder 360 in the inevitable red.

Beat that!

Sensitive subject at my club tho, £3.50 entrance and no matter how many entrants winner gets £15. I won the mens open, 118 competitors I won with 42 points off 14, and I got £15. disgraceful!

Stand about as much chance of getting a set of clubs in that as you do in a real Ferrari

Won my club championship in 1993. Won a set of engraved whisky tumblers. They are still my pride and joy, although I drink brandy out of them now.

After an amazing round of -3 (68) at the weekend and a handicap cut from 4.5 to 3,7 winning the Millenium Trophy at my club at the moment is my best achievement.

A silver tray (that stays at the club) along with a voucher for £25 (that went into the Pro Shop).

Why so good?

It was The Hudson Trophy at Filey GC and my name is now on an Honours Board after 25yrs of trying.

Prizes are a bit of a sore subject: Two second places and two third places in European Longdrive Champs. and only a few minor freebies. No cash. No money. No certificates. Does that stink or does that stink?

I do however have four smallish national championship winner's trophies. They must have cost me well in excess of £25,000. in outlay so my life in golf (prize wise) is in the red.

But at least I'll hopefully get to feel the wind in my hair as you drive me to..........lady's choice. Wow I'm excited!

Best prizes I have won have all come courtesy of the GTour. Fortunate to win Order of Merit twice winning Ambassadorship with Bunker Mentality and free entry to following year's events. Then qualified for final in Cyprus when format changed (twice). Various other prizes such as Go Kart trolley, Bunker Mentality clothing and balls. Golfing Gods have been kind to me.

A round of golf in a pro am with Sandy Lyle is my greatest prize which was in 2010 at slaley hall, the same year a friend and I won a day (with 10 other lucky people) playing golf with Rory at the belfry, we each got to play 4 holes with him, a couple of trips to Spain one as a single and the other a pair a long with the normal shoes, bags, putters and wot-not

I don't really know that it's the best prize I have won, but it's certainly the most used and useful prize I've ever won at golf - an umbrella for nearest the pin at Sudbury Golf Club (16th green, 9 iron to about 4 inches).

I did manage to win a car yesterday, well for a day anyway! I played in our President's Day and there was £5,000 on offer for a hole in one on our 10th hole. I was playing in the 1st group and hit the 1st shot of the day on the 10th. I missed the hole in one by 4 inches but did win the use of a vintage car for the day!
