Handicaps? How do they work on this site?

Posted by: user75266 | Mon 10th Dec 2007 11:24 | Last Reply

Hello all

Just a question about the handicaps and how they are worked out. My handicap is 28 but my playing partner (who regularly beats me) is 35 according to your scoretracker. Is this a glitch.

My playing partner is Duncan Wall if you wanted to check his stats.

Great site by the way!

I've just sent you a Private Message.

When you join you can select the following :

Male (UK golf handicap max 28)

Female (UK golf handicap max 36)

Junior (UK golf handicap max 54)

Regards, Darren.

Yep if you go to the 'recalculate handicap' from the handicap tools, available from the tools section http://www.golfshake.com/tools/handicap_index.php this will sort.

Basically due to the complexities in the golf handicap system, the golfshake.com handicap system only calculates your handicap when adding new rounds. If you edit or delete rounds nothing is done, hence the reason for having the recalculate the handicap option.  This boils down to the fact of allowing seasonal starting handicaps and being able to do manual adjustments.

Regards, Darren.
