Swing restriction

Evening All

Have I found a the key to shooting a decent score??

Let me set the story

Recently joined a new club and got a handicap of 19 (When I left my previous club in November I was playing off 23.5) I had been playing some decent stuff for a few weeks but within the last 2 weeks couldnt get off a tee. Was struggling with a nasty hook ect.

Tonight I got home, and despite the pouring rain I decided to go play a few holes on my own. Had planed to just play 4 holes with a couple of balls.

I have this cheap dunlop waterproof jacket which I have never really liked as it doesnt breath very well and I find it really restricts my swing. But stuck it on anyway.

With the restriction of my swing I found myself swing easy and smoothly, without really trying to hit anything too hard.

As a result I was hitting everything out of the middle, long and straight. Literally half a backswing.

Is this the way forward???

Medal on Sunday, if its 28 degrees I'll be wearing my waterproof jacket...........

Just an update. It works!!

Just played in a blind pairs comp. Shot an 85 for 40 points off 19 which was the highest individual score.
