Hello fellow golfers i am relatively new to this wonderful game coming from a rugby league background but forced to the sidelines through injury, however my question is this....what does the average joe see as a good handicap, when i say average joe please dont take offence im sure your all great myself certainly included im Sergio garcia in my mind.
Due to work commitments i cannot justify membership fees but wanted a handicap.....found golfshake problem solved i put three rounds in i played with a local PGA pro who works at my local american golf and it was calculated at 17, im over the moon to have this magnificent status now and cant wait to thrust it into my father in laws face.

i think 17 is great, been playing myself for 18 months now and hit some nice scores, normally get a birdie or 2 on my card every round, but still cant get my handicap below 20 so think you have done well to be 17 after only 3 rounds
