Update with my little lad....

Posted by: user40826 | Sat 4th Jan 2014 17:00 | Last Reply

Jack and I went to the range yesterday and I filmed his swing again. He's becoming a lot more consistent now.

Any advice?

Brilliant How old is he? Mine's just learned to walk and I'm wondering how soon I can buy him some clubs.

He's just turned 6, he's been hitting balls since he could stand. We bought him some cheap plastic clubs from a pound shop for his first Christmas and then moved onto the Tri-Golf equipment.

He started lessons when he was five at my club, Market Drayton. It's free!

I found this video of him at the range when he was 22 months old. Time flies.

That's a brilliant swing for a child of that age, and he obviously enjoys it if he's been at it that long and still likes it. My only bits of advice, be there to encourage him but don't push him too hard. And make use of the free lessons while you can

Thanks for the comments gents. He does love the game, I hoping this will continue next year. He's still not big enough for junior golf shoes!

The coaching at the club starts again in March and runs till September, once a week. It gets me out of work early and gives Jack quality time with his dad - the most important part of it

One happy daddy.

The sheer delight on his face at the very end is quite something. I'm really looking forward to doing the same with my son in a few years.
