Eye Opener

Posted by: user432170 | Fri 2nd Aug 2013 16:41 | Last Reply

Started playing more golf recently and finally beginning to bring my handicap down, however, certainly had an eyeopener today. Sherdley Park Municipal course I have been playing for some time although earlier scores were never logged as they were useless. So far the course has been in great condition and well looked after until I played today. Still enjoyed it but in front of me was a competition so my round took forever to finish. What I found though was the state of the greens and tees following them. Cigarette butts over the tees and greens riddled with unrepaired pitch marks. Not sure if this comp was from the local clubs or societies but surely etiquette is still required even on a municipal. Am I still naive to the world of golf.

On the plus, I had a cracking birdie on the 17th which made my day. PS: I am looking to get a membership in sep/oct so any recommendations near the warrington/Newon-le-Willows area is appreciated.

Happy Golfing
