missing out on golf, because of golf!

Spoke to a fella today that i used to work for who is also a member of my golf club. He told me about a charity competition on Sunday and told me it was Texas scramble, i admitted i had no idea how it was played and he proceeded to explain to me how the game was played, realizing it was a team game and more tactical than stableford, i was mega excited about the idea of team golf. Anyway, i started thinking about the friends id made recently at the club and wondered if i could get a team together. Later on in the day my mate said he was home for the weekend and wanted a round, i had vouchers, everyone's a winner! later on this evening the fella i was initially speaking to must of got my number from somewhere and text me to say he had a spot open on his team and wanted to know if i wanted to play! i was elated until i realized id already arranged to play with my mate.

Moral of the story - no matter what, you can never beat a good 18 holes with a dearly missed mate
