Par 3, 9 Hole

Posted by: user528614 | Mon 27th May 2013 19:38 | Last Reply

Just a bit of advice/views, I take my son on the local Par 3 9 hole course, he is 6 years old, he has not been playing that long, he is scoring around the 46 mark consistently, and I'm sure will bring this down very soon, just wondered if anyone thought this was a decent score for a kid of this age, in my opinion he plays some very good shots, but I'm no golfer.

IMO, thats not a bad score for such a young golfer. If he enjoys the game perhaps treat him to a lesson if he gets a good school report. Given the correct encouragement his numbers will come tumbling down

Hi Yvonne

If he enjoys playing why don't you check out local clubs to see if any have a junior section for him to join.

IMO he is at the perfect age to start learning more about the game. Wish i had started playing at 6!!!

Scott, I agree that Nailcote is a fantastic course (in fact, I was there on Monday morning) but I don't think I would ever recommend it as a course for beginners!
