Rulling please?

Posted by: user43763 | Thu 18th Apr 2013 21:10 | Last Reply

Played today with a mate and my ball came to rest just outside a greenside bunker. i had to take my stance in the bunker and on doing so my mate said that i wasnt allowed to ground my club? He said when your stance is in a hazard then your not allowed to ground the club? if i was left handed id be fine ;P tried looking on the rules website but no joy

thanks in advance

I think he made that one up. I'm fairly sure it only implies when in a bunker or hazard ie water (the ball).

The only thing you wouldn't be able to do is build up the sand to make a stance.

Alun,

The rule is that you're not allowed to ground your club in a hazard.

If you're stood in a hazard you can ground your club outside it with no issue. Similarly, if you are stood outside of a hazard and playing a ball in the hazard you cannot ground your club inside the hazard

Alun

No more "give me's" under 2 foot for your mate would be my advice based on that!!

Hope you won the hole in question :-)

the ball wasn't in the hazard so you "CAN" ground your club
