Spending a year in USA working and playing golf?

Posted by: user513404 | Tue 16th Apr 2013 14:25 | Last Reply

Hey, this is my first post but here goes.

I'm just about to finish university in the UK and am in the process of trying to decide where and what I want I want to do next. I love golf and am a 10 handicapper. A distant colleague of mine decided a couple of years ago (must have been around 20 at the time) to go and spend a year in the USA playing golf and seeing how good he could get. I think he had/has ambitions to become a pro. Sadly I haven't heard how he got on since then but I am interested in the idea.

So to those with experience in America, living there, playing golf there etc, would this be a good idea? Is it feasible to find a bit of work there, play golf all year round, find a place to live etc?

Personally I can't think of anything better than having great weather and the choice of going to play golf and genuinely improving my game!

Many thanks, Joseph
