why do the pro golfer (males) not where shorts when they are playing ?? they are allways in hot places ,,,,

Simple answer Peter. The European and PGA Tours don't allow them to.

And if you saw Lee Westwood and co last year in that unstanctioned event in Turkey, you would know the real answer.

In this day & age where all sexes seem to be entitled to the same benefits etc it seems strange that no-one has opposed it?

In this day and age where everything has been dumbed down, why not go the whole hog and play golf in swimming trunks. In very hot climates you will never see the locals wearing shorts, should tell you something.

John, I got to Alicante every year & every 'local' I have met working & playing on the golf courses have been wearing shorts?

So they are becoming slovenly in Spain now, amazing. I expect a local rule allows them to kick the ball as well.

back off to india again in 3week and it 50/50 with shorts on , going for agame of golf over there to ,so r see what the locals have on ,

Don't know what your definition of slovenly is but I don't think a pair of fashionable tailored GOLF shorts with golf shirt, white socks etc is slovenly?

Shorts in New Zealand golf too. Everyone wears shorts there - too damn hot otherwise.

I'm with the "cover up" brigade. The sight of Westies legs last year was too much.

I can't play in shorts. I look down at address and see a pair of bright white hairy pins. Trust me, I don't need this distraction!!
