Advanced stats, putts, penalities when you pick up

Hi all. I've had a very interesting support query come through via email today and would welcome peoples views.
What do you score for putts if you pick up on a hole ? same goes for penalities.
Personally I just enter 2 putts and leave the penalities blank.
