Winter golf

Posted by: user353213 | Thu 29th Nov 2012 21:10 | Last Reply

Can anyone recommend courses in or around the Cheshire area that hold up well to winter conditions? I dont want to put my clubs into hibernation for the winter but want to avoid courses that are on winter greens.

Cheers!

Devere courses usually stay on proper greens and tees all year round. Wychwood park and mottram hall are in cheshire.

You can get a points membership for 295 which may be enough to see you through the winter depending how often you play. And you can play any course with it.

Gorstyhill stay on summer greens all year round,it's only frost and snow that keeps you off them. They tweet the course conditions every morning at about 8am,however the course is a bit wet in some places but given the year we have had it can only be expected. All in all it isn't to bad to play in winter.

It was -4 degrees outside first thing and players were teeing off at Haverhill Golf Course on with Temp Greens and no Trollies! How can anyone enjoy that? Got to be mad!
