Mixed Golf

Posted by: user495476 | Mon 22nd Oct 2012 11:07 | Last Reply

Hi All,

My club are finally coming to terms with the Equality act, one issue under discussion is gents and ladies playing in the same competitions (playing off their usual tees and using the CONGU handicaping system). Do any of you have any experience of this, does it work, how difficult is it to administer?

Ladies have always played in the mens medals and stablefords off their own tees. Why? I don't know seeing as we cannot play in their medals etc.

With a difference of 800 yards in length, they certainly have a great advantage over us and sometimes we afford them the luxury of 2 more courtesy shots, what a way to run a club.

We have run a few this year. No problems. There is a standard formula for stroke adjustment base on the relative course difficulty.
