Ryder Cup stats - something to ignore :)

The guys over at the Paddy Power Blog can exclusively reveal that Team USA have a, marginally, better chance of lifting the Ryder Cup because of one very simple reason. They can drive the ball further than Europe.

Is this for real? USA can on average drive the ball 25.2 inches ( yes inches ) further that the Euro team member. Its all over...... Dave CAC handed Geordie.

25.2 inches more likely to end up in the rough!

I think it's a bit of marketing spin, the approach stats are more interesting!

Exactly, Dan, just like the normal PGA circuit, best putter wins.

Only 3 players shorter than Poulter. His record is excellent, as is Jim Furyk's... Doesn't matter if you drive 270 or 310, and putt like God or Mr Magoo, its the number of shots to get it in the hole that matters.

Fantastic singles play by the Europeans. We crushed them.
