It's my birthday... what shall I get?

Posted by: user43166 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Tue 18th Sep 2012 08:23 | Last Reply

Hey, it's my birthday tomorrow :-)

...and with this will (hopefully) come a couple of hundred quid in spending money. What should I get?

I'm fairly happy with my clubs (although they are not custom fitting) - could get some improvement there....

I could get a series of lessons in the hope of taking me "to the next level"...

My putters about 5-6 years old... shall I try a blade-type rather than mallet?

I could do with some new waterproofs as I've lost about 3-4 stone since I bought these and I look a bit of a spud when wearing them?

Or should I blow it all on a trip to a "top course"...

What do you think?

A few years ago Mrs H bought me a set of (very expensive) Footjoy waterproofs for birthday/christmas present and I've got to admit that they have been one of the best golf related gifts I've ever had. Waterproof, windproof, very light and small enough to roll up into the bag pocket. Brilliant.

Deffo waterproofs. A top notch breathable windproof set will make you so much more comfortable on the course. Not just for wet weather but to keep warm in winter (and most of the sodding summer) too. Well worth the investment.

Paul, I was looking recently at getting my clubs lie and lofts checked and adjusted. After a session on the lie board. Cost is 40 for a set of irons so its gunna leave plenty money left for beers. Although I would love to play at sunningdale. Dave CAC handed Geordie.
