Hi Liam, I have just had a supertroke fitted to my putter but not been out with it. I am hoping that it will help but I will let you know.

Liam, at your age you are far better to try to learn the right way, strengthen your wrists and practice, it will make you a better putter in the long run. If you are already looking for alternatives to practice it won't help you be the better player you talk about being on here.

But the Jumbo grips do prevent your wrists from turning as much!!

Liam, I made one of those thick grips myself out of an old bit of underlay and some gaffer tape. It looked hidious but I thought id give it a go. The very 1st hole. 12ft downhill putt. Straight in the middle for birdi. "Wow this thing flippin works!" I said. Alas it was downhill from there. I think I had 3 or 4 three putts that day. I can see the science behind it but felt my particular grip had just too much give in it and not much feel. With a much firmer rubber then it may be worth a try. Dave CAC handed Geordie.

I like thin grips on every club, just like I like thin steering wheels on cars.

I've just had my putter grip thickened up (not a jumbo grip but a slightly bigger one with an extra layer of tape). I did this because I felt like I was really having to squeeze the grip to get a stable grip and it resulted in me occasionally pulling putts. My grip is now much more relaxed and my putting has improved.

They're not for everyone. I suggest you try holding a couple in the pro-shop and see how they feel

Tim, Bit of a risk having a new grip fitted just before the NvS, is this so you can blame it for when you lose?

When playing matchplay my eyes light up when I see my opponents putter with a jumbo, superstroke, twothumb grip or a belly , broomhandle putter. 9 times out of 10 they're poor putters , give'm nothing!!
