losing new balls

Posted by: user458699 | Wed 22nd Aug 2012 18:03 | Last Reply

I have a bad habit of losing new balls as I believe I am too nervous to loose them and therefore make a bad shot. Am I the only one in this case?? Is there a cure for that?? I play much better with balls I found on the course from other players but it doesn't feel right.

At my club the driving range runs down the righthand side of the 1st and is naturally out of bounds - because of this, I normally play the 1st with the ball from the previous round and get a new out on the 2nd

some days I can loose half dozan, other days I keep the same ball all the way til the end.

Why not get in the net with a new ball before going to the first tee, thern use that ball?

I have two ball pockets in my bag, new ones and lake balls i get cheap from ebay. As soon as I lose 3 new ones on any given day the lake balls come out.

Knowing I can only lose 3 new ones a round takes the pressure off to a degree.

I do like to start every competitive round of golf with a shiny new golf ball.

How long they stay on the course with me before I lose it I don't know.

Normally it's a pull hook on the first tee and OOB's for me.

When I play with the shabby old golf balls I don't seem to have this problem.

Was given a sleeve of ProVI's once. Got one out during the round, sliced it way OOB. Second one followed suit. 3rd one stayed in my bag for a while. What a waste!!
