Playing a ball above your feet

From what i've been taught, i think the general idea is to grip down the shaft and aim right as the slope tends to result in a hook yet i seem to always end up slicing badly with the ball going further right. Any thoughts? thanks, P

Maybe you open club to much try close litle and see if this,was problem
