golf shaft help

Posted by: user409715 | Tue 26th Jun 2012 17:45 | Last Reply

hi all,

i used to use the md superstrong ti 46 with a 65 regular shaft but i kept slicing the ball, i took my mates cheap little onyx 460cc square driver to the range and regardless of what i did i was smashing it down the middle, now on this driver it doesnt tell u the weight of the shaft but it feels quite whippy at the bottom, is there anyway i can find out what flex it is, to compare it, it was a lot more whippy than the md driver i had?

any help is appreciated

thanks gaz

As Lee correctly states, the Graffaloy are generally pretty stiff shafts anyway. The same seems to be the case for the UST shafts that are fitted in MD kit.

I had exactly the same problem as you with my MD woods, but got Aldila DVS60R shafts fitted in my driver* and 3 wood and they feel lovely now.

  • Although I subsequently junked the MD head and went for a slightly smaller Ben Hogan CS3 head in the driver - just preferred the feel of it.
