Golf Insurance
Hi can anyone give advise on golf insurance, what is the best one for a non club member, I play in a societies as well as running one, and having just seen one of our members hit by a golf in Portugal i think it would be advisable to insure myself

Dave. If your main concern is third party liability insurance in case you hit someone you will probably find that your household insurance policy provides more than adequate cover. I know mine does!
Golf insurance is great for covering equipment if, for example, it gets stolen from your car or if you are travelling with your clubs. I don't have a policy myself but I insure my son and his equipment through 'golfcare'. The policy seems comprehensive, the price is competitive and you get vouchers for three free rounds at Marriott, DeVere & QHotlel courses. I also got 3 '2fore1' vouchers but I think they've stopped that promotion now.

Dave,
I use Golf Plan. I took it out after hitting someone with a ball and being fortunate that it was an older gent who accepted it was an accident and didn't believe in these "greedy buggers who sue for sneezing near them". It covers my kit, personal indemnity and even the bar bill for a hole-in-one (I can hope!). It also covers me in the UK and abroad and has old for new cover. It was the best out there when I looked around.
Home insurance doesn't always cover you, even if you have the legal protection option, as it is often linked to claims involving the property
