Matching Driver and Three Wood

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Thu 12th Apr 2012 09:47 | Last Reply

I've finally ground down the wife to the point where I definitely heard the words, "Go and get your golf clubs."

So I'm not in a position to look for a new driver and three wood.

Just wondering if people think it is important to get a matching driver and three wood?  Or wouldn't it bother you to have a Ping driver and a TaylorMade three wood.

For me, it wouldn't bother me at all.  I'd buy both clubs on the premise of how well they felt to me when I was swinging them.

What do you think?

doesn't bother me, i play a ping g20 three wood and a mizuno driver. i think the hybrid and fairway wood should match though - i dont know why it just seems right.

Can't see what the problem is, just use what feels right for you.  The only thing my driver and 3 wood have in common are the grips and DVS 60R  shafts.  Heads are Ben Hogan and MD respectively..

I have a Titleist driver and Callaway 3 & 5 wood.  Have also had a Mizuno driver while I still had the same 3 & 5 wood

Don't worry about the name, get what suits your game
