Is Summer Here?

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Sat 31st Mar 2012 17:56 | Last Reply

Played in the International Pairs competition today and our golf course played very much like it does in the summer months.

The ball rolled much further than it has been doing.

Some of our approach shots were landing just short of the green and rolling all the way over them and off the back!

Have any of you noticed your course getting into summer mode?

Definitely.  Played Southern Valley on Monday and left myself 135 yards to the green on the 13th hole, which happens to be a par 5.  Decent shot up the middle but it must have run on for a country mile.  The course gets a lot shorter in the better weather.  Still, nice to have some nice weather for a change smileyhttp://www.golfshake.com/scripts/ckeditor362/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.gif" title="smiley" width="20" />

Played Moortown yesterday and on 2 of the long par 4's I made the green in 2 and on one I went through! - That is unheard of for me even in the height of summer - lots of bounce and roll!
