uk golf break

Posted by: user121802 | Sun 25th Mar 2012 17:52 | Last Reply

Looking to go for a weekend break later in the year, can anyone suggest a nice spot. Looking for some where like the Belfry, but done that one and Forest of Arden. Celtic Manor is the obviuos choice. Has anyone any other ideas.

Depends how much you want to spend and how many courses you want to play - Breadsall Priory in Derbyshire is pretty good with two courses, and there are two at Greetham Valley, if the one course we played a month ago is anything to go by the other is pretty good too.  Or obviously, the Belfry...

Check out Golfbreaks.com - or alternatively just look for some nice courses and find a hotel near by. Around Hertfordshire, there is The Grove, Hanbury Manor, Luton Hoo, Moor Park. Both De Vere and Marriott have plenty of choices. All depends on how much you want to spend, if you want to stay at the course etc.

I went to the belfry last weekend, for 3 rounds of golf (1 on each course), 2 nights stay including bed breakfasts and evening meals all for £200 booked directly through the Belfry.

If you book with Celtic Manor direct before the end of April you can get 2 nights/3 rounds on all 3 courses, for £239 during August. Bargain, played there last April and it was just spectacular.

Tim sounds like youre taking very nice courses here. We went to the belfry a few years ago and had a great time, not too dear. For those on a bit of a budget, Ashbury manor nr Oakhampton is a great complex and very good value. Just take better weather than we did last year.

Dave CAC handed Geordie.

Tim, I played Stoke Rochford and Belton Park last Saturday, only 10 minutes drive from each other. Both played well and i'm sure getting a room for the night in neighbouring Grantham wouldn't be to much of a headache,  I would expect a couple of nights and two rounds of golf ( one at each) would only set you back aound £150.

looking at last weekend in July B&B for two (sharing), can be as low as £100, then allow £80 for the golf and hey presto your bill will be arounf £130 each
