Forum threads
I know this has been mentioned before but would welcome your thoughts on long forum posts see the Dress Code for an example.
Any preference :
1, Leave it as it is, very long page
2, Reverse the order with newest first and then very long page
3, Add in pages similar to other forums, given the above posts has 163 replies and based on 10 per page you would have to go through 16 pages to read the whole thread
4, Do as point 3 but default to the very large post, so you would be directed to page 16 rather than page 1.
Does this make sense ?
Any other thoughts greatly appreciated.
Wayne, how's the grammer and typo's going ?

Darren,
I think I mentioned it before I would like to see the newer posts at the top rather than having to scroll down everytime just to read the latest one.

Yes, newest to the top and maybe closing older threads.

Ok here's another idea, why not hide all but the last 10 posts with the option to unhide the remaining posts if you wish to read them, that way they won't require as much space on the page thus less scrolling required.

Hi Darren
I've hinted at this before but there wouldn't be 16 pages on that particular thread if all of the personal abuse and idle banter had another place to call its home.
BTW, I'm regretting subscribing to the "dress code" thread - My e-mail box is getting full each day with notifications of new postings. How do you unsubscribe from a thread?
As for preferences, option 3 seems to work best on other forums with the last page having its own direct link e.g. pages...13, 14, 15, last

Peter, thanks for the feedback. Just edit your post in the 'dress code' thread and untick the box for notification
Regards,
Darren.

What about if forums can be locked to stop further posts ?

Darren,
Why does the Announcements Forum show the incorrect date for the last message?
