Singles Medal and Foursomes. It is a game of how many strokes, so points should be banned.

Bogey - like matchplay and strokeplay combined.

All as above. Golf is about how little shots not how many points

stroke play but I have no problem with stapleford or matchplay or team events, better ball, or any other format, I just like playing golf, but stroke play does sort the men from the boys.

Anything to get out on the course.
Being at a 9hole Muni for many years we used to come up with some weird formats. "Draw Golf" was a firm favorite but other players didn't like it, so we only played it on a closed course.
'Yellowsomes' was fun too.

Singles matchplay in the club scratch knockout against one of the best club players - late afternoon in the summer. A total treat whether I win or lose, but somehow it often brings out the best in me. I beat one 3-handicapper three years in succession, 1up , then 2&1, then 3&2 and he said "I'm going to beat you in this one day, Terry". I didn't like to point out he was heading in the wrong direction! My partner and I have drawn him and his partner in the handicap foursomes KO this year, and the pairs' strokes are level so he'll be very motivated.
My most enjoyable game was losing in the Final to a young +1 handicapper. A friend of mine, Dave, came up after work and met up on the 16th. He asked how I was doing and I replied "Pretty good - I'm 1 over par gross and 2 down!". Remarkably, that young guy is now Dave's son-in-law and the club teaching pro - if I ever play him again I don't think Dave will be on my side any more!
A less enjoyable game was the following year when I reached the Final again, won it 1 up, but had to report my opponent to the Captain for suspect actions. Still, my name is on the board!
