North South Dividing line ?
As a foreigner in this country I have always thought that anywhere south of Birmingham was South and north of Brum was the North. This is purely on a North South divide ignoring regions such as the midlands etc.
Am I right or wrong?????????
regards,
Michael.

Matt,
Are you confusing Watford with Watford Gap ?

Geographically, the split follows the line of the M6 across the top of Birmingham. Extend that east and west and you are about right (Birmingham south/Wolverhampton North, Ipswich south/Norwich North)

Yes Chris I agree. I travel to London a lot on business and always feel I am back in the North when I reach wolverhampton on the M6.

Can we just stop this thread now. Every year we go through the same old questions about north or south.
You play for where you think you want to play. It is your choice not governed by some Imaginary line.
sick and tired of the same thread every year !!!!!!!!!

Ashby del a zouch is generally known as the centre of england which would mean geographically Chris Perrys about right. I would imagine though the north south divide wold generally start around Watford in most peoples eyes in terms of what people see as northern folk and southern folk.

Anything south of the border between South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire I consider to be south!

I want a 3 way comp next year. Go team Central i.e the MIDlands

Here is a poser for you all then - I play for the North and Kev Swain plays for the south and we both live in Leicester.

Interestingly enough, if Chris Perry is right, I should be part of the North team....!
Reply : Thu 8th Mar 2012 13:00
Well Rob you should both i theory then be playing for the south.
Iit's funny when this thread comes along how rediculous all the moaning was from the certain members of south team about the venue being to far north, ha it's actually geographically 30 miles south of central.

Bloody lightweight Marshall, I came up from Ringwood last year - with a hangover. Piece of cake..

But the £300 he mentions is only just enough to get that off the drive Matt

Southern faries always moaning about something, us northern boys just get on with it. It may get boring but at least all the banter adds to the spice for the competiton
