Use of Buggies in Club Competitions

Posted by: user356537 | Mon 5th Mar 2012 17:37 | Last Reply

Tonight our club committee will be considering a proposal that the use of buggies should be banned in club competitons unless you have a medical certificate.

It's caused quite a storm but I'd be interested to hear what others think?

This has always been the case at my club, only medical certificates are acceptable to play with a buggy in a competition.

I reckon its the right move.  The bigger suprise is that you've been allowed them in comps already

I'm really surprised you've been allowed to use buggies in a competition without a medical certificate.

Always been the case at my club. Only allowed buggies in comps if you have a medical certificate or doctors note...

Same at my club.  No buggies in comps unless you are on the approved list held by the club.  You have to apply to be on the list with a medical cert and it must be renewed every six months

I am suprised that they are allowed in compitions without a medical certificate, but from discussions with players at our club where the adverage age of players is 65 + if they want to keep members they are going to have to look at this closely in the future.
