Crazy Swing

Posted by: user250721 | Sat 25th Feb 2012 17:18 | Last Reply

Me and my mate got paired up with another 2 ball today. Both chaps were a lot older than us but got on really well and was a really enjoyable round of golf. However one guy had the following swing. Mental.

I had a lesson with the pro after the round who had taught him a few times. Said that he had been playing this way for 20 years (he is in his 70's by the way)

The pro also said that he doesnt normally tell anyone that he had tried to teach him. lol

I think he was playing off around 24. Used to be off 15 in his day.

its really funny that a pro had me standing that far behind the ball as a drill on monday.

The idea was to not initiate my swing with a weight transfer back ( i know that transfering back then forward is commonly taught, but in my coaches opinion this creates less room for the right side and promotes a steeper over the top swing )

i could make great contact, but trying to keep the ball right was impossible.

How did this guy hit it, surely most things went low and left ?
