What the club says: Officially opened in June 2000 by cricket legend Sir Ian Botham, Skidby Lakes was added to the Cottingham Leisure portfolio in 2008.
The Lakes course has recently undergone a major tree planting programme and presents a pleasant yet challenging experience to all levels of golfer. Through its variety in the length of holes, its slightly smaller but sloping greens the course offers a good balance of ‘birdie –bogey’ opportunities throughout.

Ignorant senior members
I played the course today but sadly I was stuck behind 3 senior member with the worst course etiquette and manners I’ve seen for a long time . They refused point plant to let us play through them and appeared to go slower and slower to delay us. They would even stand on the green after putting having a conversation. I spoke to the professional who allowed us to play the front 9 again so I can’t comment on how good the back 9 are. Won’t be backReviewer Rating

Enjoy able course

Getting better

Slow round
Very slow round at the course, felt like too many Players on the course, over 2:30hrs to get through 10 holes isn’t great so walked off at this point. This ruined the experience. The greens had been hollowed as well which didn’t help the course but other than that it was in good condition. Not the friendliest greeting on arrival eitherReviewer Rating

This course is improving all the time! The new layout is superb. A real hidden gem. The Pro Shop staff offer a 1st class service, very knowledgeable and always happy to help. The bar staff were very accommodating and the elderly manager Jeanie and her daughters Sam and Kristina were lovely. All in all 5 star.

18th was on temp green. Many of the holes on temp tees, but the temps were on slopes. Course was in very good condition. £18.50 a round midweek is perhaps a little steep when still on temp tees.

always a good test with small greens. A lot of work has been done since Cottingham Golf Club took over to improve the maintenance of the course.
There is work going on to alter some holes (ready for next year) which will improve the course even more but does not stop you enjoying your round.

Good pro shop well stocked. Course in good condition for Oct due to dry weather. Greens unbelievably quick just couldn't get to grips with them on a difficult windy day.

Great course , received a warm welcome in the clubhouse and enjoyed a delicious meal served by very attentive staff . Pro shop was nicely stocked . Found the young manager Chris and his assistants very knowledgable . Will
