What the club says: 18 Hole, par 69 parkland course that reaches 5,494 yards in length. Henry Cotton three times Open Champion in the 1940's, helped in its development and held it in great affection. Stunning views attract golfers each year and combined with a layout that will test the most skillful player, Eskdale will provide a great game.

The signature hole is undoubtedly the 151 yard 14th. An elevated tee looks towards a green set within a vast trout pond which requires an accurate shot to stay out of trouble. Eskdale prides itself on a quiet and relaxed feel.

Beautiful course

The course Now has new staff, very friendly welcome.
With 3 holes closed due to the recent rain the green fees were only ?10.
The rest of the course is coming along nicely, greens were perfect for the time of year.
Had a lovely day, and will be back soon.

This is a great course to play if you can keep your eyes off the stunning views. The par 3 14th is a beauty.

(Round played: Jun 2016 - Score: 82 Handicap: 13.8)
Visited with a golf society. This is a compact golf course the first 3 holes are very close and can be off putting as other players are within your range if you are wayward off the tee. From the 4th the course opens out and is very enjoyable. Being straight and not necessarily long is the key to a good round. The greens maybe need a little work, but overall I enjoyed the round and the staff were very accommodating.

My favourite course! A hidden gem in the Lake District. Located in the flood plain of the river Esk it can be damp under foot but flat with lovely fairways. Greens are well kept and mainly flat. Fantastic signature hole over a large trout pond!
