What the club says: The front nine sweeps eastward from the clubhouse. Mature tree-lined fairways synonymous to Macreddin Golf Club are evident from the opening holes. Panoramic views throughout the valley combined with meandering fairways between gentle slopes and natural contours of the terrain, epitomise the style and splendour of the first nine holes.

Moving across the valley the back nine uses all of Macreddin's natural elements, including statuesque pines, well protected greens and elevated landing areas. The free flowing brook weaves its way through the back nine ensuring that decision making is an essential tool each golfer must carry.

Excellent course. First time played, you really must take a buggy as some distance between tees. Stunning scenery and varied interesting holes. Will definitely return.

Stunning course and location

This course is stunning and set in a wonderfully peaceful remote location.
It's a tough course - if you haven't played it before (as I hadn't) you can be unlucky and lose a few balls you didn't expect to. But still a challenge to be enjoyed.
The little clubhouse village theme was nice.
I worried that the unoccupied houses and quietness of the course were bad signs it may not survive the golf recession. I hope it does.

Superb golf in beautiful surroundings...

Mini golf trip with pals from Norwich,UK and Holland, unbelievable setting and course in great nick. No clubhouse as such but there's the little village 50 metres from the very welcoming pro-shop which was handy for post-round beer. I'll be back very soon and the boys have changed their annual Spain trip for Ireland....Macreddin is that good and green fees as cheap as chips. Buggies are a must unless you're half man, half mountain goat.

Challenging course but an obvious lack of funds will hinder its development as no real clubhouse facilities only the Macreddin village hotel.
