Great beginner course, greens could do with some attention though. Friendly staff, always happy to help.

First Round

Decent course to learn on, well thought out. Could do with more watering in the hotter weather although still enjoyable.

Good club, very poor course

Very friendly membership who will always make you welcome. The clubhouse is welcoming with nice staff and good food at reasonable prices. There is a decent range, practice green, practice bunker and even a chipping area with another green, so that's all quite good. However the course is a joke, easily the worst I've ever played on. There really isn't anything good to say about it. The tees are a mess, the fairways have more weeds than grass with copious amounts of unattended crow damage and the greens are patchy all over, the bunkers have a mix of what appears to be building sand, soil and aggregate in them. Obviously the staff haven't the faintest idea about how the condition of the course or the setup of the tees etc. affect the game and consequently scoring. How can they organise competitions under these conditions? The results would be completely meaningless. I feel sorry for the members who pay good money only to be taken for a ride like this. There's a lot better not too far away.

Play it in winter.

Very dry and hard during the summer months makes being aggressive very difficult, so play it in winter when the fairways and greens are a little softer. The course is probably worth 5 out of 10 because of the land it's built on but there's enough interest to make you think before playing your shots. It's short but not simple. It's kept in as good a condition as can be, I've played a lot worse for a lot more money.
The club has a decent range, practice putting green, practice bunker and a chipping area and green, so pretty good really. The food and drink is very good and reasonably priced, the staff are all very welcoming. As for the members, they're the friendliest I've ever encountered. Don't be shy of going alone, there will always be someone who will take you round with them if you want.
Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Fairways very dry in summer as the soil base is very sandy although the newer holes (back 9) were much better. Sand in bunkers is a very heavy sand which after a heavy dew or rain is very difficult to be aggressive from.

Maturing Course, sandy soil, open fairways. Some bunkers a little firm but greens good.
Plays well when other courses are waterlogged. Small, friendly clubhouse with Driving Range facilities.

Overall the course is ok. Patchy greens and most have sprinkler heads on them. Thick sand traps and over brush in all areas. Challenging course because of the amount of Par 4\'s. They do not give rain checks (if weather is bad you can come back to play on a later date). Reason of explanation is because the lady at the club house never heard of it. Not a good way to do business when dealing with customers not from the UK.

OK for a newish links, good to learn on. Only one par 5 is a bit restrictive. Big hitters will find it short bt enjoy driving greens on par 4's.

Had a lesson with the pro Ben Kerr. Found him very helpfull ,pleasant and easy to talk to. Played 9 holes then before it got dark. First time at course. Found it tricky to find the way from green to next tee. Fair bit of walking. Interesting course. Short holes with bunkers, water and trees to catch you out. Many of the holes are dog legs so you don't need to be a big hitter to enjoy the course. Will be back to play again.

Great for a laid back hack around if you're a beginner/high handicapper. Course isn't exactly going to feature on the PGA tour but it's got a good variety of holes and it's still developing. Clearly a lot of time, effort and money being put in by staff/owners. Great food in the pleasantly relaxing bar area. Great place to enjoy a round of golf and a beer without being frowned upon for daring to be less than 50 and not wearing shiny shoes!

Originally a 9 hole then 12 now 18. Very open and set on sandy soil so you can play all year round without difficulty. For a new course it is developing very well. Very friendly staff who are continually extending the facilities there. Excellent flood light golf range as well. Bar and good food also available.
