Play it in winter.

Very dry and hard during the summer months makes being aggressive very difficult, so play it in winter when the fairways and greens are a little softer. The course is probably worth 5 out of 10 because of the land it's built on but there's enough interest to make you think before playing your shots. It's short but not simple. It's kept in as good a condition as can be, I've played a lot worse for a lot more money.
The club has a decent range, practice putting green, practice bunker and a chipping area and green, so pretty good really. The food and drink is very good and reasonably priced, the staff are all very welcoming. As for the members, they're the friendliest I've ever encountered. Don't be shy of going alone, there will always be someone who will take you round with them if you want.
Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Had a lesson with the pro Ben Kerr. Found him very helpfull ,pleasant and easy to talk to. Played 9 holes then before it got dark. First time at course. Found it tricky to find the way from green to next tee. Fair bit of walking. Interesting course. Short holes with bunkers, water and trees to catch you out. Many of the holes are dog legs so you don't need to be a big hitter to enjoy the course. Will be back to play again.

Very flat course easy to navigate. Some tough holes especialy the 4th & 6th. Difficult to get the ball to stick to the greens (very hard ground) but good fairways.

Great for a laid back hack around if you're a beginner/high handicapper. Course isn't exactly going to feature on the PGA tour but it's got a good variety of holes and it's still developing. Clearly a lot of time, effort and money being put in by staff/owners. Great food in the pleasantly relaxing bar area. Great place to enjoy a round of golf and a beer without being frowned upon for daring to be less than 50 and not wearing shiny shoes!

First Round

Decent course to learn on, well thought out. Could do with more watering in the hotter weather although still enjoyable.
